Small Home: Moonah
This brief of this small home was to provide a secondary dwelling for a family home in Moonah. In a mere 60m² there is a kitchen, living, dining, bedroom, walk-in-robe, bathroom & laundry. While only a little house, it packs a strong punch! With a beautiful and productive garden design crafted by Good Life Permaculture, it was essential that the home worked holistically with its productive surroundings. Through considered window placement, the home frames views of the maturing productive garden, the suburbs surrounding, the mountains beyond and the sky above, whilst also ensuring moments of privacy from the main house.
By using a simple structural arrangement and modest level of inclusions, overall costs were kept low. With polycarbonate awnings extending out from the house, sheltered outdoor spaces are formed to allow life and function from inside the house to better permeate through to the outdoors. Overall this home is just big enough for the essentials whilst encouraging life to extend out beyond its walls, into the natural environment.
