This brief of this small home was to provide a secondary dwelling for a family home in Moonah.
West Hobart Writers Studio
We designed a multi functional writing and living studio for some wonderful clients in West Hobart. The brief was to create a detached space for working and studying, guests, extended family, and reflection, a space that opened up to the existing garden that was calm and warm. The design is simple, compact and elegant. The simple structural design and refined palette of materials kept the construction affordable. The building employs passive solar design principles, benefiting energy efficiency. The Writers Studio includes a living space with kitchenette, a main sleeping space, a loft, a separate writing studio space, bathroom and an outdoor bath on the deck!
